6 Month Check Up

James had his 6 month check up today, it went really well. James weighed in at 19 lbs and was 28 1/2 inches long, so he gained a couple pounds and grew a hole inch :) He is 75% in weight & 97% in height, because he is so long he is acually under weight for his height. James is offically a crawler now and into EVERYTHING!! He is into Gerber 2nd foods and loves to eat solids more than his formula. He is eating rice cereal & gerber 2nd a couple times a day and only really wants a bottle right in the morning and right before bed. Which Dr. Strang said is totally normal and ok for his size. Dr. Strang was really impressed with how strong his legs were and that he was crawling, he said that James will pry be sitting up by himself in the next couple weeks. Dr. Strang said that James'  physical development is measuring as a 8 month old not a 6 month old.  Our next new thing is the sippy cup, we started that tonight and James doesnt seem to mind it. He just looked at it and talked to it for a mintue or two and than just started to drink it :) Enjoy the photos below, James has become such a poser now when I take pictures :)

So James & I ventured out to Target this afternoon to get some stuff that we have been needing. I needed to get James some more bibs so we were in the baby section and I notice these sunglasses and I thought aww how cute, thinking that James will never let me put these on him. After getting more stuff in the store and James chewing on them through out the entire store, we got home and put them on him and he loves them!! We will have to wait and see if he will acually wear them in the car though :)

Great Grandma Ginny

We went and visited Don's grandma today in Indianola. Her health is going down hill fast and really has been asking for us to bring him down to see her. The last time that Grandma Ginny had seen James was at Christmas so she was pretty impressed at how big he is and how active he is. It was great to hear her laugh at James and see a smile on her face. It is really hard to see someone that you love struggling, but we know that we will see Grandma Ginny again, and we are just thankful & are enjoying the time that we have with her now!! :)

Surprise, Surprise!!

All of us kids/grandkids on my side of the family surprised my mom with all of us coming home for the weekend. James had a blast since his cousin Lincoln is around his age and Seth his other cousin love to push James around in his rig!

1st Valentine's Day!!

James had a blast with his 1st Valentine's day. Friday at daycare they had a party, which they do for every holiday. James got LOTS of treats that mommy & daddy are getting to enjoy since it is mostly candy...yummy :) He got a nice card & money from G'ma & G'pa Sharr and a cute book from G'ma & G'pa Lorenzen. We got him a super cute stuff puppy that says "Love You" on it and a book called "I love you all the time ". Enjoy the photos below of James!!

Happy Birthday Mommy!!

This is my first birthday with James around, and he made it so much more special!! I got a great surprise at work James sent me ballons and daddy brought me a cake to eat at work....yummy!! Thanks to my parents Don & I were able to go out to eat and enjoy some alone time together, although since we have become parents when we do get alone time all we every do is talk about James or get James stuff. Croup

Well we were back in the doctors office last night. Don got a phone call during the day from our daycare lady who told him that James' cough wasn't sounding too good. I had notice it the night before but thought it was just the crap loosing up in his chest. We took him into urgant care and thankfully our normal doctor was on-call that night :) Dr. Strang diganosed him with Croup. James finally got over his fever but sounds really bad, the Dr. said his airway doesnt sound too bad and that we brought him in right when his cough started to get wezzy, which helps it from getting worse. We started steriod treatment today for it, although it makes James hyper and super hungry it seems to already be helping!! Please keep him & us in your prayers. No one has been sleeping well since James has been sick now over a week. I am praying that James is really going to finally heal from all this crap instead of getting worse!!! :)

Almost....

We have really been working with James on sitting up by himself. He is improving alittle more every week. He is really enjoying the toy he got from Grandma & Grandpa Lorenzen which really helps him work on sitting up to play with it. You will have to excuse the mess in the back ground it was major cleaning day :)

Prunes are really yummy!!

James for some reason REALLY loves prunes, which I thought that he would hate. I think that prunes are now ahead of liking bananas. Enjoy the pics below of him chowing down :)

Like Father, like son!!

The past couple weeks James has really enjoyed grabing his feet, I guess Don just wanted to show his son that Daddy can do that too!!
