Making a Come Back!

When James was about 3 months he gave up pacifers and loved sucking his thumb instead. I was thrilled about this, glad that I wasnt going to have to wean him off these. For some reason James is starting to love them again. The other morning getting ready for work, Don & I walked into James' room found him playing with all his pacifers, it was a pretty funny site...enjoy the photo below :)

Ready, Set, Go!!!

James has started to really get good at scooting & just this past week he is really able to pull himself up on his hands and knees. It is pretty fun to watch, James gets up on his hands & knees and scoots forward a little bit and than he just falls flat on his tummy. It is almost like he just runs out of engery :) Don's parents are in Texas till the end of February and we think that he will be crawling by the time they get back!!

Jump, Jump, Jump

Don & I have been looking for awhile for a jumping entertainer, we were going to wait a bit longer to get one since they take up SO much room, but James has really been jumping on who over holds him so we thought we would get him one today. We took James with us to babies r us, which he loved since there were other kids there and LOTS to look at, he did really good too :) On the car ride home James just kept looking over at his new toy in the box, when we got home Don put it together right away, with James' help :) When we first put James in it he really didnt know what to think but once he figured out that he can jump in it he went crazy. I left dad & James alone this afternoon, I had a hair appt in Ankeny on my way there Don called to tell me that he put James in his walker/rig and right away James tried to bounce in it.....I thought that was funny, anyways enjoy the pics below :)

5 Months Old!!!

WOW, I can not believe that our little James is already 5 months old, time is really flying by!!! James is now over 17 lbs and almost 28 inches long. He just started eating gerber 1st foods this past week, he enjoys the food pretty well. His favorites so far are sweet potatoes & green beans, he doesn't care too much for the carrots but we are working on that one :) Thursday night he showed us that he can scoot/crawl and it brought me to tears. He can't even sit up by himself yet and he is already on the go. He is learning he can get places fast by rolling until he gets where he wants to go. James is pretty much sleeping through the night, with a few off nights. He sleeps from about 7:30-4:00am, some nights alittle more or a little less. James is doing really good in daycare, he has made a lot of friends and we think that he enjoys going there to play! James is really learning how to move in his walker that Grandma & Grandpa Sharr got him for Christmas. First he could only back up but now he is all over the place with it! Below are some of our favorite moments of James caught by the camera...enjoy :)

Sorry for the delay, I am have been meaning to post this picture in here since the lunchen. Every year the govenor has a holiday lunchen for state employees, well this is the first year that I have been able to attend. It was a neat experience and I got to meet Chet Culver and his wife Mary for the first time. It is always nice to meet the boss that you have been working for :)

Yummy Green Beans!!

James is almost 5 months old, so according to our doctor it is time to start him on the gerber 1st foods. James has been finally eating his cereal every night the past two weeks and once in the morning at daycare. We went out yesterday and got some carrots, peas & green beans for James to try. Connie our daycare lady suggested to us that we try the vegetables first and than the fruits after he gets the veggies down, since the fruit is so sweet tasting she said alot of the time than they won't eat the veggies. This morning I fed him some green beans with his cereal and he LOVED it!! James acually got mad when I put the beans away and just fed him the cereal. I tried to get some pictures of him eating his first green food but he loved it so much, not much of the beans ended up on his face or coming out of his mouth :) Which I am very happy about!! Heading to Texas!!

Every winter Don's folks go to Texas from January to March. We always miss them greatly during this time! Since Grandma Ginny's health isn't very good right now Ron & Jo will only be gone for about a month instead of 2 this winter. I will really miss having Jo around to help me out with James, espcially on Monday's when I need to get stuff done. Ron & Jo came up today to spend some time with James before they leave this week, I think it will be really hard for them to leave this winter with their grandson waiting for them to return!! We hope that you guys still have a great time & that the weather will warm up for you!!! We will miss you!!!!

Getting a Early Start!

Over Christmas James discovered daddy's salt water fishing poles and reels, he loved them!! It was funny to watch James because he knew exactly what to do with them. Don loves to go salt water fishing and we have a lot of gear for it, I have only had the chance once to fish with Don in Mexico and I loved it. We can not wait to teach James all about it...enjoy the photos below!

Happy New Year's

We spent our new year's day down in Knoxville at Don's parents house. Don's brother Ronnie and his wife Sarah came up from Missouri to have the Sharr christmas and of course brought James a lot of new toys to unwrap! I am pretty sure that Don & I are not going to have to buy James a new toy for a long time! James is the only grandchild on Don's side and the first nephew for Ronnie & Sarah so he gets spoiled alot, which is fine by us, that is what they are there for :) I hope that you enjoy the pictures below of James opening gifts & mommy helping.
