Farmers Market

James & I ventured downtown this morning for the Farmers Market. This is a rare event for me since I had to work every Saturday. A met up with a few of my co-workers down there. The weather was perfect, I was a little worried with all the people that are at the Farmers Market every weekend how James would handle it all, but he did great. He loved seeing all the dogs and other babies and thanks to my friends Laura & Diane I was acually able to eat some of the yummy breakfast food that is always down there at the market. I ended up coming home with tomatoes, aspagus & strawberries. I also found these super cute steel iron sunflowers that you can stick in the ground or in a planting pot. I am hoping that I can make it to the Farmers Market one last time before the end of the summer. I would like to hit it up over the 4th of July than they will have there sweet corn and watermelon....YUMMY!!

Swimming is SO much fun!!

The weather was finally warm enough for us to go get James his first pool. It was around 85 degrees here on Saturday, so we pack up the house and hauled the pool and James down to Grandma & Grandpa Sharr's when I got off work to try the pool out. I thought that forsure that James would not like the pool since it took him a long time to warm up to liking baths, but he LOVED it. As you can tell from the pictures Don introduce him to it very slowy & didnt just put him in it :)  It was so much fun to watch James giggling & playing in the pool, although the dogs thought that it was a drinking pool for them :)

Learning how to walk!!

We got James a walker last week. He has really been getting good at walking back in forth holding onto the couch and other things, so we thought that it was time. I took James to Target with me to get it and he kept his eye on it in the cart the whole time and kept his hand on the box the whole way home, it was soooo cute that he knew it was for him! I put it together while he took a nap, so when he woke up his just let out a gasp of excitment when he saw it sitting in the living room. It did take him a couple falls to relize that it does have wheels on it and that he can get around ALOT faster on his knees than his feet but it is so cute to see him walk with it!!

Monday I took James for a check up on his ears which are still infected so we are on our 4 round of meds for it & counting the days till we go to the ENT for that. He also had his 9 month check up and showed off to his doctor that he is learning how to walk! James weighed in at 23 lbs, & is off the charts for height. When we got home from the doctors I put James down for his afternoon nap & he woke up with pink eye. Which I believe that he got from the doctors office but you know it is really hard to figure out that kind of stuff. I know that is wasnt from daycare since James hasn't been there for 2 weeks but he woke up with a swollen eye & he freaked out that he couldnt see out of it. So James was crying & I was crying too, I hate seeing him in pain, it just breaks my heart. His eye is healing quickly with the help of his eye drops from the doctor. Now if only we can get his ears better!!

We will miss you Grandma Ginny!!!

Don's grandma Ginny passed away at 8:55 this morning. She has been bed ridden for the past few weeks & the past few days she has been in pain from having a hard time breathing. So she is in a much better place now, free of pain & discomfort. Grandma would always talk about how she is ready to go on the greatest vacation of her life & ready to meet Jesus! I was told that as she took her last breaths this morning her nurse was reading the bible to her and that is the way that she wanted to go & the last thing that she wanted to hear. We will miss Grandma Ginny GREATLY & we will carry her in our hearts & thoughts everywhere that we go!! I am glad that she got to meet James & James got to meet her. We have them on video together so that we can show James someday when he gets older. Grandma Ginny always thank me for making her son Ron a grandpa, she never thought that she would see this day. :) It always brought tears to my eyes when she would say this to me. As we get ready to say our finally goodbyes this week to her this week, it has reminded me how short life really is & how much I love my son & husband!!!

1st Mothers Day

I had a GREAT 1st mothers day. James & daddy took me out for breakfast this morning & than I was able to come home and go back to bed till 10:00. I haven't slept that late since before I was pregnant!! I than woke up to James handing me a mothers day card and my present which was a membership to the Zoo in town here. That we both love going too!! We than met Don's parents & brother for lunch at the Pizza Ranch and than came home & took a 2 hour nap:) So all in all it was a really nice mothers day and my hubby did a really good job of making me feel special!!

Special Time With Grandma

This week our daycare was closed due to the fact that her brother was having a double lung transplant in Iowa City, so Don & I split up the days and took them off work to take care of James. Since we were home James got to spend not only extra time with mommy & daddy but Grandma & Grandpa Sharr can up a couple times to see him. Don's mom usually would come up on Monday's to help me out and to spend time with James but Don's Grandmother's health has been really bad lately and is going to pass any day now, she has been bed ridden for a couple weeks now & is having a really hard time breathing and staying awake, so Don's mom has been busy with helping to take care of her, so we have missed having Grandma around every Monday!! Anyways Jo is always able to calm down James enough to get him to read books with her. I am not very good at this with him.....the kid just has too much energy :) It must be the teacher in her!! Anyways thanks Jo for all your help and for loving James.....enjoy the pictures below!!

Testing the Limits

Well it is official James has my personality 100%. I think that is a good thing except that I am very strong willed & stubborn so......James is that way too!! Whenever we tell him "No" he just looks at us and smiles & giggles or babbles something and than goes onto something else. But lately he has started to me alittle more strong willed. As you can see in the pictures James was testing the limits the other morning with the electric sockets with daddy. His facial expressions explain it all in these pictures!!

Bubbles!!!

Last monday I was thinking as we were walking through Target waiting for the Photo Studio to open for James to get his photos taken that he is pry at the age where he would love bubbles. I bought a bubble gun and some spare bubbles in case the bubble gun didn't work. The gun does work & James loves it. He doesn't really giggle or squeal about it he just looks at the bubbles and you can tell he is trying to figure out what there are. I love seeing things through the life of your child :)
