1st Thanksgiving

James's 1st Thanksgiving went really well, athough He did sleep through the entire meal but that was ok that way we all got to eat at the same time. Which since we have had him that has been a rare moment :) He got a 1st Thanksgiving card from his grandparents which he looked at very intensely while I read it to him :) It was James' first over night trip too. He slept really well, went to bed around 7:30 and didnt wake up till about 4:45. We were sure that we would be up alot during the night since he was in a new place and bed to sleep in, but he did great!! I am really excited for next years Thanksgiving, it will be really fun to watch him eat the turkey and mashed poatoes/gravy :) We put the tree up at G'ma &G'pa Sharr's yesterday after the meal & James really enjoyed that, he loves looking at the lights!! Back to Work...YUCK

The time finally came for me to return to work this week. It did go better than what I had expected though. I guess it helps when you only have to work 2 days your first week back :) James did really well at daycare and he seems to like going there....well at least from what we can tell. Whenever he see's his daycare lady he starts smiling so I don't think that he would do that if it didnt feel comfortable, right?? Leaving him there on Tuesday was the hardest thing that I have EVER had to do in my life!! I have never been so excited to come home from work as I was on Tuesday. James & I are both pretty tired at the end of the day, I think that we have both been in bed sleeping by 8:00 the past few nights! James slept 10 hrs every night the past two nights. Adjusting to working 40 hrs a week and being a mommy has been hard for me, but I love it!! We are hoping that next week will go just as smooth as this week :)

Christmas Tree

James & I put the christmas tree up on Friday. I was really excited to do this, this year since I have a child now to share this with!! James decided that it was boring and fell asleep in the middle of it, once James woke up he LOVED it!!! Don & I can't get him away from looking at those lights all the time. The chair that I feed James in has the christmas tree right behind me, so James now would rather look at the lights and tree than eat now :) I am learning that it is a great distraction to him when James is fussy I take him right over to the tree and he stops. Don & I are really excited to celebrate christmas with James, we know that next year will even be more fun since he will acually be able to open gifts and be excited about them!! For now we are enjoying watching him discover new things everyday :)

Almost Lost my Toe!!!

On Wednesday night I went to get James ready for bed, went to take his socks off and freaked out by what I saw. James's 3rd toe was swollen to about twice the size of his other toes. I screamed for Don, after many mintues of trying to figure out what the heck happend, we figured out that James had somehow gotten one of Mollie's hair wrapped around his toes several times. It took us several minutes to get the hair off. It was so swollen that we were not sure if we got it all off. We headed off the urgant care at Mercy. We got in right away, funny how when you have a screaming baby they tend to get you in a lot faster. Don & I joke about how we need to take James everywhere so we can get really fast service :)
It took about 2 doctors and 3 nurses to figure out that we had gotten it all off! We did find out that if we hadnt gotten it off he could have lost the top of his toe!!!  The more people I tell about this, the more I hear about this happening alot. There are so many things you need to know as a parent, someone really needs to write a book about them, even the weird things that no one thinks happens!! Hmmm maybe that is a good idea, I guess I should start writing this stuff down! :) Thank goodness James is very patience with us as we are learning as we go!! :)

3 Months Old!!!

I can not believe that James is already 3 months old. Time is really flying by...which makes me very sad!! He is now over 15 lbs and 26 inches long. I think that he is going to take after his daddy :) He is able to lay on his tummy and hold his head up really good, he also can bring himself up on his elbows. We call him our little wiggle worm, everytime that he wakes up from his nap he has his head up really high just looking around and seeing what is going on. It seems like it takes forever to feed him now that he has discovered the ceiling fan and TV. He always wants to play instead of eating! It is so fun to see how he just takes everything in and observes everything so closey. He is smiling & laughing more and more everyday. Just yesterday I think that he discovered that he has a voice and can make it really loud!! He was chattering so loud this morning on his changing table that my ears were hurting :) James has taught us so much about life, love and happiness. I have learned with a baby that you have to find the humor in things, like the time James was crying so hard that he started to snort, or the time that he pooped on mommy! It has been alot of work but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!!! We are VERY thankful to God for such a wonderful son!!!

James had his second play date with Kendall Jones, aka James's future girlfriend :) My good friend Molly Jones's daughter. Kendall was born on July 7th 2009 just 6 weeks before James. They seem to really enjoy cooing at eachother and chatter back and forth. Molly & I dont understand what they are saying but they act like they do! It was really fun to watch them. Kendall would make a loud noise and James would just look at her, and than James would make a loud noise and Kendall would just look at him like what was that?? I am hoping that his is the begining of many play dates to come :) Hope that you enjoy the photos :)

Look at me!!

James has always been really strong when it has come to holding his head up. Right from the start he held it up alot and when on his tummy was able to switch from side to side.  Just the past few days has he been able to really hold it up for a really long period. I know that this is going to sound crazy but he is really starting to pull himself up in his crib and on the floor and getting up on his knees and wiggles forward. When we put him down at night, he will not be in the same spot for long. I dont know if this is normal or average at this age, but people keep telling me it is not and that he will pry be crawling soon!! I guess time will tell.

The time is coming closer & closer to when I have to return to work. I only have 2 weeks left!! I hate the fact that I have to leave James all day, but I know it will be better for him in the future. I have really enjoy having not to work on Saturday's. I always work Tuesday-Saturday so I never get a Saturday off. The nice thing about this is that James will only have to be in daycare 4 days a week, and he and daddy will get some real bonding time when I am at work every Saturday, and than with me on Monday's :)
I love the photo below, James loves to watch TV so Don and him cuddle up and watch cartoons last  Saturday morning. Something tells me there are ALOT more of these moments coming!!

Friends till the end??

Well I think that Mollie Jean is starting to warm up to James. When we first came home from the hospital she wanted nothing to do with him!! When James would start crying Mollie would sprint for the bedroom and hide in our closet. Now it doesn't seem to bother her as much. James has also noticed Mollie the past few days. We hope that some day they will be friends. I am sure Mollie will love him when he starts throwing food!!

We give up!!

Well James has really started to stick his hands in his mouth, when he started doing this I told Don I think that he is going to be a thumb sucker.I myself was a thumb sucker and my parents put all sorts of things on my thumb to get me to stop sucking it but I would just suck right through it! James now refuses the pacifer and prefers his thumb. We would fight with him to keep it out of his mouth, but this past week and weekend I discovered that James can put himself to sleep with sucking his thumb, which means that I am only getting up once a night if at all! We do laugh alot because he stucks his thumb so loud we can hear him in the other room!! We find it really cute but we hope that he will not be one of those kids sucking his thumb when he is like 5!!

Praise God!!!

The last post was a lie, we had a really bad day with James's issues and so we decided to just go to the GI doctor and see what he says. I am so glad that I took him there! After taking with the doctor and him reviewing the medication that he is on for his reflux, the doctor looked at me and said you are not going to like my diagnosis but this sounds more like colic than reflux. He really took the time to discuss colic with me and the theories people have of what causes it. He really encourage us to take him off the medication, which I thought was not a good idea but I thought he is the doctor and a speicalist with these issues so I decided to trust him & God.
That afternoon I didnt give James his meds before feeding him & he did GREAT!
He has been doing better ever since, he is sleeping better & eating better and I have to admitt alot more enjoyable to be around:) After these past few days, Don & I are starting to wonder if the medication that James was on was upsetting his stomach more than helping with things. We have to go back in 4 months for a check up with the speicalist. I am so glad that I have my happy baby back & it makes us feel alot like better parents!! Thanks for all the prayers & help from friends & family (espcially Jo & Ashley). We couldnt have gotten through this time without your help, allowing us to get out of the house just the two of us every now and than!!

Doing Better!!

Well after alot of talking and praying we have decided to not take James to the GI specialist. We started taking him to the chiroprator and it has really help with his reflux! We are still having to use the medication for it but his feedings and nap times have really improved! On Sunday our pastor talk about healing, and at the end of the service he ask that if anyone needing healing for anything to come forward to the front and he will pray for them. We went up with James, they pray over James that God would take all his pain and discomfort away. He had been really fussy the whole time at church and right after they pray over him, he stop being fussy and was cooing and smiling! Praise God, we seem to forget that God can heal any and everything!! We just have to trust and believe!! Thanks for all your prayers and support through this frustrating time. I am praying that his improvment with his relux gets better and better everyday.

Giggle, Giggle, Giggle....

James has learned that he can giggle & laugh. It is really fun to watch him as he discovers that he too can make noise! Last night after his bath he was giggling so much on his chaning pad (which is his favorite place)that my abs were hurting!! Don was clear in the other room and he could hear him loud & clear. I do feel bad because sometimes James is so loud that he startles himself and he starts crying.

It is fun to watch him as he has finally learned to entertain himself! He really sits back and takes every little thing in. When Don & I are eating dinner James will just sit there and stare at us like what are you eating and why are you not giving me any. We have pictures of family members on our fridge and everyday since James has been born, I take him over there and face the fridge and tell him who they are. He now smiles & coo's when he sees the pictures everyday. I just can not believe how much he has changed and grown in the past 2 1/2 months!! He is just growing too fast for mommy!!! As soon as I can figure out how to post pictures and video's with my posts I will of James chattering & giggling.
