15 Month Check-Up

We had James' 15 month check up today. He weighed in at 27 lbs & was 32 inches long. Which puts him in 75% for both height & weight. He really didn't grow or gain much from his 12 month check-up but I guess that is normal since they grow so much the first year! We got the ok to start James on a multi-vitamin which he loves and wants several of them at one time :) James got 4 shots including his last shot for the flu vaccine. He is right on track as far as eating, talking, walking & running!! Dr. Strang was impressed by how well he listened to me when we were there. James seems to understand than when we start counting 1,2,3 we mean business and he stops. :) I can not believe that my little baby is 15 months old already. I looked at Don tonight and told him that I dont want James to get any bigger or grow up!! It has gone by so fast already!! I am looking forward to having a short work week & having 5 days off work for Thanksgiving to spend time with my boys!!!

Battle of the Will's!!

Well it is safe to say that James is forsure my child! These past few weeks he has really started to test the limits with us. When we tell him no he edges closer & closer to the object (aka the blinds) and smiles. I am remembering back to the days when my parents would say someday your going to have a child just like you. well you guys are right. Instead of being frustrated with him we are just thankful that God has given us a healthy baby that can cry, talk & eat on his own!! As you can see in the photo below he is becoming more independent everyday!! I love James more & more everyday & we still get excited everytime he wakes up from his nap. In case you have never seen it, when we hear him wake up with both fight to get to the door first to get him! He is a real blessing that we were not sure that God was ever going to bless us with!!

Most Wonderful Time of Year!!!

Yes, the Christmas tree is up at the Sharr household!! We debated weather or not to put one up because of James and trying to sell the place, but since we have had 6 people look at it and no offers I decided I am going to keep on living and put up the tree!!  James has done very well with it up. He was very interested in it as we were putting it together and the lights of course but after his nap he seems to have forgotten about it. We only put the ornaments up top just in case though :)

It was great to be able to spend the day with Don & James for Vetern's Day. I am very thankful for the men & woman that fight for us everyday. I think & pray for my friend Michelle everyday & her husband who is fighting over in Afghanistan. Geoff had to leave his wife & their 1 year old little girl Chloe to fight for our freedom!! I can not every try to understand how it must feel to leave your family or have your loved one leave for a year. So thanks Mosby family. We love you and pray for Geoff's safety daily & strength for you too Michelle!! :)

Happy Birthday Dada!!!

It was Don's birthday last week so we went out to eat to celebrate. Don's parents joined us. We went to Don & James' favorite resturant Texas Roadhouse. Don & I like this place since James can be as loud as he wants and no one cares :)

It was really cute & funny but James thought that we were singing Happy Birthday to him :)

Park Time

We have been trying to get oustside as much as we can lately before the cold weather comes. One of James's favorite parks is the playground at Clay elemaentry school in Altoona. It has play ground equipment for every age group, so there is one perfect for him & his size!! His favorite & mine is the bumble bee ride :)

Carving Pumpkins

We decided that we were finally going to carve our pumpkin that we got a few weeks ago. This is the 1st time that James has ever carved a pumpkin before. He really wasn't too interested in it. I stuck his hand down the pumpkin which he thought was funny, but than he got mad that he hand was all dirty! Don & I carved most of it , James did help by poking holes in it with the pen that we used to trace the face with before cutting it out :) For some reason this blog has had some major issues uploading pictures sorry....I try:)

1st Pumpkin Patch

We headed out to our 1st pumkin patch with James this weekend. After talking with other friends that have one years we decided to go to Center Grove Orchard in Cambridge, just outside of Ames. It was amazing it was a pumpkin & apple orchard. They had a petting zoo, little tractor races, corn pool, jumping pillow & a huge slide you go down on with potato sacks, which I think was James favorite part & mine too!! He laughed and laughed the whole way down the slide it was so heartwarming to hear him giggle!! They had a blue grass band playing live music and James got right up front and danced along with the other little kids. James ended up picking out our pumkin that we took home, all 15 lbs of it!! We came home with some yummy apples and apple crisp too!!
