Carnival at Daycare!!

James' daycare lady had a carnival for her kiddos this weekend. James had a blast and screamed/cry when we had to leave. It was nice for us parents to meet each other too and see what kid belongs to what parent. James got to make his own visor and decorated it. Bean bag toss, ducky pool, fishing & a cookie walk! James came home with lots of goodies!!! It was very nice of Connie to throw this for the kids and we appreciate her so much!!

Train Table

Since we have James' birthday party next Saturday we decided to give him our gift today, especially since it is a huge train table and we were have troubles hiding it from him! We had half of it built and than Don's parents came up for lunch and help us finish the rest. It was funny when I got him up from his nap he saw the train table box sitting on the floor and already got excited! He freaked when he saw the acual table :) He has been playing on it ever since.....Happy Birthday James we love you!!!!

Joys of Being a Homeowner

I know it has been a while since I have posted something. Just been super busy with the move, getting stuff put away and trying to relax in between! We all seem to be adjusting well. The biggest adjustment is being in a little town with nothing but a gas station. Luckily Altoona is only 3 miles away & Ankeny is 6 miles. But I am learning to be a better meal planner now! My goal this week is to only make 1 trip to HyVee all week, we will see how it goes. We are enjoying having a kitchen table to sit down and eat at together. I am enjoying having a big kitchen to cook in, and cupboards to put everything in. One surprising thing that I am really enjoying that I didn't think to much about was a pantry, that is super nice!!! James is really enjoying the yard to play in, he has been sleeping in more and more, which we LOVE!! We hope to convert him into a twin bed with in the next few months. Enjoy the pictures below :)

Father's Day!!!

We had a GREAT Father's Day this year. We started celebrating on Saturday night since we were going to be gone most of the day on Sunday. James got his dad a Apple I Pad 2, Don has been talking about getting one every since they came out, I had been saving my money to get one for him! Now that I see how awesome they are I really want one of my own!! On Sunday we took Don out for breakfast at Village Inn. I would have cooked but that is not a strong point of mine, plus Don's favorite is blueberry pancakes which I can not make to save my life! We than headed home and got ready to go to Grandma & Grandpa Sharr's for lunch. Jo made a wonderful lunch like she always does :) We had one of Don's favorite Steak & Baked Potatoes....yummy!! Headed home after lunch, James took a 3 hour nap which gave me enough time for a nap too, Don headed to the gym for a extra long workout. I feel bad because Don doesn't get to the gym as much as he likes to since I work late every night. Than we ended the day at our favorite pizza place in Ankeny, so it was kinda of like Father's/Mother's day here. I got away without cooking all day!! It was also nice to take a day away from packing & getting stuff ready to move on Friday!! Enjoy the pictures below :)

Our New House!!!

I thought it was pry about time that I post a picture of our new home!! We close on the 24th of June, and it can not come fast enough!! Funny story we looked at this house and put in a offer about 4 months ago when we thought that we had our condo sold and ended up loosing our possible buyer.We were both very sad thinking that we had lost this house!  In the mean time, the house dropped in price and we got a buyer for our condo!! We had it listed 2 weeks with our new realtor and she had it sold :) We KNOW that God wanted this house for us and we are so thankfull for all that He has provided for us!!

Omaha Vacation

We decided to get away for the weekend and head off to Omaha. Don's parents were glad to join us too, which we were glad that they did! The trip went A LOT better than last year, James slept half the way there this year and than watched his DVDs the rest of the way!!

We took James to the Children's Museum, which I think that he remembered from last year, had a blast there! They have like a play Food Market so the little kids can shop like mommy & daddy for food, with little mini shopping carts and all! It is pretty much like a adult life, but child size :) Than we were off to the Durham Museum, which had TRAINS!!! James had been obsessed with trains for a couple of months now and he freaked out when he saw real trains there. After the Durham, we headed back to the hotel which we stayed at the Hilton Inn downtown, which was nice since all the places we went to were downtown. Jo & I headed out to find the Old Market, while the boys relaxed at the hotel. The Old Market was a HUGE disappointment, don't waste your time if you are ever in the Omaha area!! It is just pretty much bars and restaurants.  Than when we got back we headed out the Cabelas, which was James' breaking point. We didn't stay long, James fell asleep on the way back to the hotel and slept till about 7:30, we thought that he might sleep through the night , but not so lucky. He pretty much woke up long enough to eat some pizza we had ordered and watch a Bob the Builder DVD than he was out till about 6 in the morning. Sunday morning we took off for the Zoo!! We always try to be there when it opens in the morning to beat the crowd, so than we are leaving the Zoo just as it is getting really busy. James liked all the animals except for the Gorillas, he FREAKED out!! It broke my heart. From that point on James was ok with the animals until they moved than he was freaked. We did make it through more of the Zoo than last year, so maybe by next year we will be able to see all of it in one visit :)

Zoo Time!!!

We took James to the zoo this past Monday, first time this year. He was much more interested in everything this year compared to last. Part of the Zoo is under construction due to the expansion of the Zoo. Since James loves trucks & backhoes and such the construction workers machinery just added to the fun of the Zoo for James!! His favorites are the otter & giraffe same as last year :)  When we went in to look at the birds & waterfall's there was a blue bird right by the water fall. It started to walk towards James and he FREAKED out! It was kinda of funny cause he was so stinking worried that this bird was going to do something to it. The bird followed us around for a while & James kept his eye on it the whole time and would not let us put him down:) We got some good pictures, enjoy!
