Omaha Vacation

We decided to get away for the weekend and head off to Omaha. Don's parents were glad to join us too, which we were glad that they did! The trip went A LOT better than last year, James slept half the way there this year and than watched his DVDs the rest of the way!!

We took James to the Children's Museum, which I think that he remembered from last year, had a blast there! They have like a play Food Market so the little kids can shop like mommy & daddy for food, with little mini shopping carts and all! It is pretty much like a adult life, but child size :) Than we were off to the Durham Museum, which had TRAINS!!! James had been obsessed with trains for a couple of months now and he freaked out when he saw real trains there. After the Durham, we headed back to the hotel which we stayed at the Hilton Inn downtown, which was nice since all the places we went to were downtown. Jo & I headed out to find the Old Market, while the boys relaxed at the hotel. The Old Market was a HUGE disappointment, don't waste your time if you are ever in the Omaha area!! It is just pretty much bars and restaurants.  Than when we got back we headed out the Cabelas, which was James' breaking point. We didn't stay long, James fell asleep on the way back to the hotel and slept till about 7:30, we thought that he might sleep through the night , but not so lucky. He pretty much woke up long enough to eat some pizza we had ordered and watch a Bob the Builder DVD than he was out till about 6 in the morning. Sunday morning we took off for the Zoo!! We always try to be there when it opens in the morning to beat the crowd, so than we are leaving the Zoo just as it is getting really busy. James liked all the animals except for the Gorillas, he FREAKED out!! It broke my heart. From that point on James was ok with the animals until they moved than he was freaked. We did make it through more of the Zoo than last year, so maybe by next year we will be able to see all of it in one visit :)

Zoo Time!!!

We took James to the zoo this past Monday, first time this year. He was much more interested in everything this year compared to last. Part of the Zoo is under construction due to the expansion of the Zoo. Since James loves trucks & backhoes and such the construction workers machinery just added to the fun of the Zoo for James!! His favorites are the otter & giraffe same as last year :)  When we went in to look at the birds & waterfall's there was a blue bird right by the water fall. It started to walk towards James and he FREAKED out! It was kinda of funny cause he was so stinking worried that this bird was going to do something to it. The bird followed us around for a while & James kept his eye on it the whole time and would not let us put him down:) We got some good pictures, enjoy!

Trial Run......

We had to privilege this past Wednesday to which little Zoey Schryver so her mom & dad could have a much needed date night! First one since Zoey was born on Jan. 28th!! It was actually a great trial run for us, if we ever decide to have another baby to see how James would do. James did great, he was a big helper. James would help feed and change her diaper & play with her a lot. James didn't understand why Zoey wouldn't hold the train and go choo-choo :) I explained to him that she is a baby and doesn't know how to do that stuff yet. Than James spent the rest of the night just going up to Zoey and touching her and saying BABY!!  We did bring up James' old swing & bouncy seat for Zoey. James had a blast playing in his swing and he assign the bouncy seat to Zoey. Enjoy the photos below :)

Come Sail Away With Me

James got a water table for Christmas this past year from his grandparents Sharr. We havent been able to put it together since now, due to lack of space. He LOVES it!!!!  He was very excited when he woke up from his nap and found it siting in the living room. We have been keeping it at Don's parents house till now.
We haven't put in water in it yet, he seems to be having fun without the water & mess too!!  We spent most of the day outside again since the weather was so nice, minus the wind. I am not sure how tired James is but Don & I are spent!! Enjoy the pictures below!!!!

Sidewalk Chalk!!!!

We spent the day with Grandma & Grandpa Sharr, mostly outside!! James learned what sidewalk chalk is, and he loved it. He didnt even put it in his mouth, which surprised me:). It was pretty funny cause every new piece of chalk that James touch he had to show it to Don's hunting dog Pete. Pete was a very good sport about it and acted very interested in it. James also got to watch Dada fishing. Don got one fish but James didn't act to interested by it. We spent a good time outside just running around, and going up and down the wooden bridge down by the pond. It was so nice to be able to spend time outside this weekend with James. I never really understood the meaning of stir crazy till I had a child. Winter does a number on both childern & parents!! Enjoy the pictures below :)

New/Old Puppy?!?!

James has discovered a old friend the past few weeks and it has been following us everywhere!! I bought James this stuff puppy dog when he was about 2 months old & he really never showed any interest in it so we just put it with the other stuff animals. Than a few weeks ago it reappeared & has been attached to James ever since!!! It is pretty cute to watch, since James makes sure that his puppy is fed & that he gets to try all the food that James eats. Like on the way to daycare last week, James was eating teddy grams, I looked in the rearview mirror and James was trying to feed one to his puppy, it was pretty cute & kinda of made my heart melt :). On another note, James is cutting his 2 year molars so we have had lots of time out for bitting & pinching from frustration from his mouth hurting. I came home from work early today to spend some extra time with James since I knew that he hasn't been feeling the best. We watched Bob the Builder and cuddled on the couch till Dada got home! Yes, one last thing.....James thinks it is pretty neat to eat his yogert with a big person's spoon now!!

Post Surgery

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers everyone, surgery went very well & much quicker than what we thought. I was out for only about a hour. Dr said I had a mild case & that my left side was much worse than my right. My tubes & ovaries look great too, I even got pictures to prove it! At least this is what Don told me that Dr. Young said :) Waking up was very hard, I could not keep my eyes open for the life of me. It is funny cause I told Don that when they took me back to the OR I layed down on the bed and they said you are going to feel a stinging feeling in your IV and than you will be alseep. I started to feel the stinging & I tried my hardest to fight the drugs but I couldnt and out I went, things got very dizzy VERY fast! I compare it to being pinned down by a semi & trying to push it off you :) Pain wise I am doing ok, as long as I stay on top of my meds & dont let it go past 6 hrs. James has been very understanding & even got mommy a get well ballon, which I think that he is enjoying more than me :) It is like he knows mommy cant bend over, Don ran to get some coffee this morning for me and James really needed a diaper change & James just brought me a diaper and layed down real nice & didnt kick or anything. Than when we were done with the diaper change James stood up & gave me a hug :) Such a sweet little boy!  Thanks again for all the thoughts & prayers. Hopefully this will help us with growing our family :)
